Major: Environmental Studies
Secondary Major: Finance
I am practically in my eighties; I enjoy watching The Weather Channel with a cup of coffee in the morning!
Dr. Amy Telligman is my favorite Wofford professor because of her passion and energy for environmental topics. She is always engaged with her students and finds exciting ways to teach her topics. In her ENVS 151 class, we did a waste audit on the front lawn of campus and disected the contents in trash and recycling bins around campus to find out how environmentally conscious our students were. She also has a genuine desire to keep Wofford held accountable to recycling and composting standards, which I truly appreciate.
I feel confident that if you choose Wofford, you will find your niche here, so go out and try many different new and exciting things! I have enjoyed getting a fresh, new start and truly discovering my passions. Reach out to the upperclassmen on club pages you’re interested in. Most everyone at Wofford is always excited to meet new students and grab a meal or coffee!
I absolutely love Wofford because of its small, close-knit size and many opportunities. I am able to get to know my classmates and see them all the time, yet Wofford is not so small that I have to miss out on D1 athletics, class offerings, or clubs and activities. After choosing between my home state’s large state school and Wofford, I know I made the right descision. I have certainly loved Wofford even more coming back Fall 2020 semester. Even though there are less activities on campus, I feel that I have met so many great students because of our close student body. The three upper classes have welcomed the Class of 2024 with open arms and helped them adjust to college during this unusual time!
