Tour Guide at Wofford College
Class of 2023
Hometown: Columbia, SC
Fun fact about me is that I do not like citrus fruits.
When I was looking for college I wish I had been told that I didn't have to be looking at big schools that all of my friends were going to, or to consider schools that I wasn't thinking of applying to. I applied to eight or nine schools, like LSU and Alabama that my friends either were going to or already attended. Wofford was the only small school I had applied to. I never thought I was going to go to Wofford, but it was the best fit for me out of all of the ones I applied to, and really has become my home.
I choose Wofford because of the opportunity to get to know classmates and professors as well as travel abroad. I went to a small high school where I knew all of my teachers very well, and I wanted to continue to have that relationship in college. Wofford is also the perfect distance from home. Wofford is a school where people stay in Spartanburg on the weekends, but if I ever needed to I could drive home.
My favorite Wofford Professor is Dr. Revels in the history department because she takes into account those who maybe have less of an interest in history and really wants them to get excited about it. She loves teaching, history, and is a storyteller at heart. Even when we transitioned to being online this past spring, Dr. Revels, kept the class alive through her stories and passion for the subject.
