Dr. Cantwell has been my favorite Wofford professor so far for various reasons. She was always very energetic about biology, and she did a wonderful job of keeping students involved and entertained in our 8:00am class block. Not only did I learn a great deal from Dr. Cantwell, I also felt completely comfortable asking her any question that I had because she would approach every student's question with sincerity and a determination to help the student understand. Oh, and her Charles Darwin shirt and choice of rock music are pluses.
Although I may be very biased towards Wofford, I think that students looking at institutes of higher education should consider what is best for them and their interests. Don't follow your friends or make a decision because of what the general trend is at your school (unless of course it involves coming to Wofford). College is a time for growth both mentally and personally, so you need to decide what institution is best suited for your own personal growth and goals.
This past summer, I drove a U-Haul from Phoenix, Arizona to Charlotte, North Carolina to move my sister and all of her belongings. (Fun Fact: It takes a whole day to drive across Texas)
Wofford for me was an easy choice. Wanting to go into healthcare, it made sense to go to the college/university with the highest per-capita acceptance rate into med school in the state. Additionally, being a home-body, I knew that the school that I would eventually go to would have to feel like home to me, and I found that at Wofford. Everyone I have met here has been genuinely interested in my success and overall experience on campus.
