Tour Guide at Wofford College

Secondary Major: Religion
Although I may be very biased towards Wofford, I think that students looking at institutes of higher education should consider what is best for them and their interests. Don't follow your friends or make a decision because of what the general trend is at your school (unless of course it involves coming to Wofford). College is a time for growth both mentally and personally, so you need to decide what institution is best suited for your own personal growth and goals.
My favorite professor at Wofford is Dr. Dan Matthewson in the religion department. I took his "Newer Religious Traditions of the World" class, and it opened my eyes to the world of religion. Through his hands-on teaching style, I was able to visit various religious traditions' worship center, and because of this class, I decided to major in religion. I can't wait to take him in the future because every class period was full of discovery, reflection, and encouragement to explore.
Two summers ago, I drove a U-Haul from Phoenix, Arizona to Charlotte, North Carolina to move my sister and all of her belongings. (Fun Fact: It takes a whole day to drive across Texas)
It's ok to act like a freshman! Wofford is one of the most welcoming communities I have experienced, and individuals at Wofford are so inclusive of freshmen and genuinely want to get to know them. Being a smaller institution, the upperclassmen are always open and welcoming of a new group of students.
